The Maternity Services Commissioning Strategy for Hull sets out NHS Hull CCG's strategic plans for the commissioning of maternity services for the period April 2013 to March 2018.
In order to give every child the best start in life, NHS Hull CCG aims to ensure that the maternity services commissioned provide high quality, evidence based and safe care, delivered at the right time, in the right place.
NHS Hull CCG is committed to involving patients and carers in the planning and decision-making process around the services commissioned. The CCG particularly welcomed comments on its draft strategy from the public and partners and these have been included in the final Maternity Commissioning Strategy.
Some of the findings from the joint consultation carried out across Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire on choice of place of birth have informed the development of the Strategy.
The document explains the current position (where we are now), the aims and outcomes of the strategy (where we want to be), and the actions required to achieve those outcomes within the specified time period (how we are going to get there). It also gives details of the proposed work programme to deliver the strategy and the actions that need to be taken in partnership with other organisations.
