UK Older People’s Day is held on 1st October each year to coincide with the UN International Day of Older Persons. The main aim of this day is to be a celebration of the achievements and contributions that older people make to our society and the economy.
Older People’s Day helps to support the campaign to challenge negative attitudes and outdated stereotypes. Across the country organisations and individuals are using this initiative to make a difference and in Hull, for the second year running, the Older People’s Partnership Group will be hosting a week-long celebration.
